May 2017 – Some of the biggest names on Broadway were behind the counter of Schmackary’s Bakery for “Broadway Bakes” to support Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.

Profits from these cookie sales, even along with the tips, will assist people with AIDS, HIV and HIV related illnesses who require critical services.

By drawing upon the talents, resources, and generosity of the theater community, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has raised more than 285 Million Dollars for people with HIV in all 50 states.

Cast members from the play “Falsettos” Andrew Rannels, Stephanie J. Block, Brandon Uranowitz and Anthony Rosenberg had a great time meeting their fans and selling cookies for a great cause. Sara Bareilles, singer, songwriter, actress and composer of the hit musical “Waitress” also joined Gavin Creel from “Hello Dolly” and Celia Keenan Bolger of “The Glass Menagerie” to help support Broadway Bakes.

The Broadway Bakes line stretched down 45th Street, with fans taking selfies, sharing images on social media, collecting autographs and of course buying their favorite cookies.

Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS offers New Yorkers in need the chance to heal and get back on their feet again with healthy meals, housing, counseling and many other services.
