The British Are Coming… Iconic UK Retailer Opens 40,000 Square Foot Flagship American Outlet in SoHo Supermodel Moss is TOPSHOP’s Most Successful In-House Designer April 2009, New York NY: Arcadia Group CEO Sir Philip Green and supermodel Kate Moss hosted the grand-opening of TOPSHOP and TOPMAN’s long-awaited flagship retail clothing outlet in the trendy SoHo district of Manhattan on Thursday, 2 April 2009. TOPSHOP is a British chain of clothing stores which operates over 300 stores in the UK and 100 outlets in growing international territories. Kate Moss is TOPSHOP’s most successful in-house designer. Moss’ spring collection will launch with the opening of the new NY store and feature Liberty prints and glam rock flourishes in its own first level boutique. The 40,000 square foot TOPSHOP and TOPMAN is set over four floors and designed in the spirit of the famed Oxford Circus outlet. Among the products showcased will include the Unique Collection and Topman Design Collection (as seen on London Fashion Week catwalks), the highly coveted Kate Moss collection, and additional designer collections. The in-store features include a DJ booth, a denim area, a vast shoe lounge, 32 change rooms and a VIP suite for celebrities. The store will also offer its successful Topshop Style Advisor and Topman Stylist services. TOPMAN, as the name implies, caters exclusively to men’s fashion, and will be located on the lower ground of the TOPSHOP store, covering over 6000 square feet. TOPMAN helps break new musical acts and dresses the latest young bands. Along with other design collections, TOPMAN will soon feature Antony Price’s collection, a designer who has dressed rock stars including David Bowie, Duran Duran and Bryan Ferry. TOPSHOP is an early pioneer of designer collaborations with some the world’s most recognizable fashion names, including Kate Moss and Celia Birtwell. Updated daily, TOPSHOP.COM attracts one million unique users who purchase an average of 3000 pairs of shoes and 2000 jeans per week.
