"HAIRSPRAY" Star Nikki Blonsky Joins Colgate Dental Health
March 2008— As part of its public commitment to reach over 100 million children in the U.S. with free dental screenings and oral health education by 2010, Colgate-Palmolive partnered with the Greater Bay Area Dental Society to bring its first ever "Bright Smiles Comedy Showcase" to 300 San Francisco and Oakland elementary school children. The event, which featured the LaughingStock Comedy Company, was hosted by Critics' Choice Award Winner and "Hairspray" star, Nikki Blonsky.
The program included music, costumed characters and the LaughingStock Comedy Company performing humorous interactive sketches with Blonsky and the students to drive home the importance of maintaining good oral health habits.
The teen sensation also cheered on the students as they boarded Colgate's "clinic on wheels", one of a fleet of eight mobile dental vans that provide free dental screenings, treatment referrals and oral health education for millions of children in urban and rural communities across the U.S.
