BEHIND-THE-SCENES WITH RIHANNA:
FENTY x PUMA by RIHANNA AT 2017 NYFW!

New York City: September 2017: The most talked about presentation at 2017 New York Fashion Week was not by a traditional designer – it was by one of the world’s most successful pop stars: Rihanna!

Backstage at Rihanna’s universally acclaimed Spring Summer 2018 Fenty Puma by Rihanna show, Ri-Ri’s models, along with her friends and colleagues from the worlds of hip-hop, entertainment, fashion, and business gave insight as to why the singer, songwriter, and actress has proven herself as a fashion provocateur, and why her designs are garnering worldwide popularity.

On stage, Rihanna went decidedly “over the top” for her NYFW extravaganza, with a motocross meets surf theme which featured gravity defying acrobatic stunts. On the ground, her models glided along a catwalk that was surrounded by dunes of glittering pink sand. Breaking with tradition, Rihanna skipped the customary bow at the conclusion of her show by taking a few laps on the back of a speeding motorcycle.

Among the notable names at the Fenty Puma by Rihanna Show show at the Park Avenue Armory included Cindy Crawford’s teenage daughter Kaia Gerber, Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Slick Woods, Lexi Boling, Taylor Hill, Stella Maxwell, Adwoa Aboah, and Grace Elizabeth. Noted Rihanna: “This collection is a mix between two worlds: motocross and surf. It was a challenge to bring them together but it ended up being the perfect combination…”
