January 2011, Las Vegas, NV: The world's most famous electric car is now the world's most famous charging station!

At the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), General Motors and Power Mat, a pioneer and leader wireless charging technology, announced an agreement that will eliminate the need for annoying and cumbersome charging cords for personal electronic devices in many future GM products.

The Chevrolet Volt extended range electric car will be one of the first GM vehicles to offer Power Mat technology which can recharge over 1,000 electronic devices such as smart phones, MP3 players and games and more.
